Andrew Bryden from Amaira Skincare discusses below, the complications that sometimes occur when treating hyperpigmentation and dark spots.
Let's discuss one of the most frequently asked questions and concerns that I receive on a daily basis. It relates to redness, dryness, and potential irritation that can occur when treating pigmented areas of the skin.
Many individuals encounter this issue, but it is a normal part of the process and does not necessarily indicate a severe reaction. Of course, if you experience a severe reaction, you should immediately stop using the product. However, if you only experience minor redness or dryness, know that this is very common.
It's important to remember that you need to moisturize and hydrate the area while treating it.
You can do this easily by using your favorite moisturizer that works well on all areas of your body. By doing this, you can counteract the effects of dryness and flaking that many people experience.
So, what should you do if you're experiencing dryness?
First and foremost, if you use the product every day, I suggest switching to every other day, or even every third day if necessary.
This will help you get through the process more comfortably. However, adding hydration and moisturizing to your routine will make a significant difference.
Another thing to keep in mind is that if using the product every third day and just moisturizing isn't enough, you can consider adding a small amount of hydrocortisone cream to your routine. This can be purchased at almost any store and can help alleviate discomfort.
While this is not a common experience for most people, I believe it's important to share this information just in case you are one of the few who experience this.
